Parrot Safe Baths, Cage Cleaners, and Pest Control

You need to be extremely cautious when it comes to chemicals and parrots.
Parrots need to have at least a weekly bath to induce preening and to stay healthy. Our products are produced especially for birds, and have been tested on our own parrots for safety. We guarantee you will like the bird baths and sprays from Mango Pet Products (a company that carries only bird products) and Canopy Pet Products.
Regarding cleaning, remember that you can choose just a cleaner, or a disinfectant and cleaner in one. You should never use any ammonia-based, chlorine-based, or commercial-grade cleaners anywhere near your bird. That goes for air fresheners (and too much perfume or cologne can be toxic as well).
As far as bug control goes, only use products with pyrethrins as the active ingredient. It is also a good idea to tell your home exterminator that you now care for a parrot, and ask that they stop spraying inside your home. Instead, spray the outside perimeter as a barrier against insects. If they want to do some pest control inside, we suggest DE powder in light sockets only. If your exterminator tells you no special care needs to be taken, then you should find another exterminator.
